Gareth Reynolds, from Prembrokshire completed the monumental ‘Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, The World’s Toughest Row’.
The 31 year old travelled 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean in a time of 51 days, 3 hours, 59 minutes.
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is the world’s no. 1 ocean endurance race and is widely considered to be one of the toughest challenges on earth.
The race takes participants over 3,000 miles unaided across the Atlantic Ocean. More people have reached the summit of Everest or travelled into space than have successfully rowed an ocean.
Reynolds began his journey on December 12th from La Gomera in the canary islands with the finishing line in Antigua in the carribean.
He rowed for up to 20 hours a day while balancing short bursts of sleep.
He intended to raise £100,000 for the MS Society.
Gareth said: “ I also intend to use the campaign as a platform to talk about mental health, to raise awareness, sharing my own experiences and encouraging people to talk about their own mental health”.
After his amazing achievement Gareth thanked everyone for the love and support and that he is getting used to being back on land and around people again!
Llongyfarchiadau Atlantic Dragon!!
