CRUNCH CLASH: Wales take on England at the Principality

England prepare to take on Wales at the Principality Stadium on Saturday with the winner looking to take a huge step towards Six Nations glory.

Wayne Pivac’s side are unbeaten whilst England bounced back from defeat against Scotland with a win over Italy meaning another victory in Cardiff would blow the competition wide open.

A Coronavirus outbreak in the France camp may give the chance to one of these sides to put pressure on Les Bleus, who are also unbeaten after two matches.

One of the key battles could be on the wing, with Gloucester wingers Jonny May and Louis Rees-Zammit going head-to-head.

Despite the lack of a crowd, the significance of the occasion hasn’t been lost on either of the coaches, who spoke cautiously in their pre-match press conferences.

Big Moments

England Head Coach Eddie Jones has warned his players about the experienced Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones:

“At times he [Jones] has targeted players in our team, we've spoken about him and we understand what he'll be trying to do."

"It's just about making sure we maintain our composure and our control.”

With the England coach wary of Jones’ influence, his counterpart Wayne Pivac has heaped praise on his captain.

"On the Tuesday afternoon (of a Test week) when we get a bit physical, Al really leads from the front," said Pivac.

"The conversations we have as a group get a little more intense; the smiles are few and far between as we get through the sessions.

"Everybody understands their roles. Nobody wants to be that guy that drops off two per cent and costs us a big moment in the game as that’s what these matches come down to.”
