WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Ghost hunters break rules and alleyways in Wrexham could be blocked off

Residents in Blackwood have won a campaign to remove a bus shelter in Chartist Way. Ward member Cllr Kevin Etherize submitted a petition signed by 18 residents to Caerphilly County Borough Council as part of a 28-day consultation. Another ward member, said: I would like to thank the council for agreeing to remove the bus shelter following consultation with residents.’’

People on a ghost hunt about 60 miles (96 km) away from home have been fined by police for breaking lockdown rules. Covid fines were issued to four people who drove from Cwmbran in Torfaen to Mumbles, Swansea, to "ghost hunt and view castles". A car was also seized due to the driver having no insurance and a provisional licence.

Senior councillors are due to meet next week to discuss proposals to restrict access to eight alleyways in the Queensway area of Caia Park, which are said to have become “rat runs” for criminals and burglars. It follows statistics being published which show that there were 105 house burglaries in the area between 2016 and 2019.
