NEWS ROUNDUP: Number of deaths at ‘normal’ levels and top tips for dog theft prevention
The Office For National Statistics have revealed that number of death In Wales have returned to normal levels for the first time in five month. Deaths involving covid-19 fell for the seventh week in a row and is at its lowest level since the 23rd of October. The news comes as we mark a year since we recorded the first Welsh coronavirus death.
The first minister has said that there will be a public enquiry on how the Welsh government dealt with covid-19 once the pandemic is behind us. Mark Drakeford added that we did not have to wait until the outbreak would be ‘’all over’’ before an investigation was held, but that we needed to be certain that we were emerging from it unambigiously.
Cardiff Dog’s Home have given their top tips for preventing dog theft as thefts have risen significantly.
Dog theft is a crime and should be reported to the police on 101, but some steps include Making sure your dog is microchipped that your dog’s tag has your name and phone number on it and to Keep up to date photos of your dog. The full list can be found on the cardiff council website.
