NOT OPTIMISTIC: Fans think Super League plans will return

Football fans across the country may have defeated the European Super League proposals, but the question many have is when might they return?

The answer most supporters would give is that these plans will return in the not too distant future as owners of the bigger clubs attempt to increase the money they make from their teams.

The Super League came just months after the rejection of Project Big Picture, which was unanimously voted down by Premier League clubs.

Those in the most powerful boardrooms in the country have attempted to reshape football twice in one season and there are no signs that they won’t come back with another blueprint of change.

Owners Remain Committed

The defiance of many of the owners is a huge factor in the fans’ concern over whether these plans will return.

Arsenal owners Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke say they remain "100% committed" to the Premier League club and "are not selling any stake".

This comes despite interest in the club from Spotify owner Daniel Ek and some members of the invincible side, who are reportedly interested in buying the club.

Fans feel that if owners cannot be convinced to walk away from the bigger clubs, that the power firmly remains with them and a return to the Super League chaos is inevitable.
