SUNLOUNGERS: Newcastle “season already over” against Arsenal
Newcastle United's unbeaten run ended with a 2-0 defeat at home to Arsenal in a game where they showed little to win.
On the Behind the Leazes podcast, Rob Roobenstein described the performance as "already having the sunloungers out".
Arsenal took the lead after six minutes when Mohamed Elneny breached the Newcastle net.
He almost added a second later but Miguel Almiron cleared the header off the line.
Pierre Emerick Aubamayeng would double the visitor's lead later with a cool finish at the back post.
The Magpies remain nine points clear of the drop zone with just four games remaining.
Fulham, the team below them, will face Steve Bruce's side on the final weekend.
We don't think we're already safe - Bruce
Bruce denied post-match that Newcastle were already comfortable and said he wasn't happy with the performance.
"We're disappointed because we haven't got near the performances of late and Arsenal played well," Bruce said post-match.
"It's a poor goal after four minutes. When you're chasing against these lads it's always going to be difficult. Arsenal were the better side today, it was as simple as that.
"Allan Saint-Maximin in the last few weeks has produced all sorts of magic but it wasn't quite there today.
"We've never thought [we're safe]. We have four games left and we still have a lot to play for."
