TRAVEL TIME: Although not advised, people in Wales are allowed to travel abroad

Rules for Welsh travellers have begun to ease with people now allowed to journey out of their local area for the first time in months to see loved ones or to go on holiday, whether than was a caravan in west Wales or a flight to Malaga. However, despite the latest advice from the first minister Mark Drakeford to not travel abroad he said it would not be possible to make it a rule as people could simply hop over the border to fly from Bristol or Manchester.

Although there is a three-tier traffic light system in place when it comes to traveling to a country outside of Wales.

Green countries are the ones where you don't have to quarantine when you get home, but you do have to book and pay for a test on or before day two of return.

Amber ones are where by law you need to quarantine for 10 days at home when arriving back as well as pay for a test on day two and day eight.

When traveling home from a red country, you have to quarantine for 10 days at a designated Uk port in a government managed facility, which starts at a hefty £1,750 per person.

Those who fail to follow the rules for red list country’s receive a fine of £10,000
