RAIL CASH PLEDGED: As £400m set to help improve journeys for passengers across the UK
New stations, faster journeys and more reliable services have been pledged by the government, as they get set to inject £400m into rail travel.
The majority of the cash is to be used to upgrade the TransPennine route between York, Leeds and Manchester. The Transport Secretary has said the money would deliver services "passengers could rely on".
