WAR OF WORDS: Former Chief Advisor Dominic Cummings slams the Prime Minister over pandemic response
Once good mates and now it seems now more - politics is a fickle world isn’t it.
Dominic Cummings, the man said to be pulling the Prime Minister’s strings was appearing in front of MPs giving evidence about the pandemic, and he began with an apology to those families who’ve lost loved ones.
It was the appearance so many were awaiting, and one undoubtedly the Prime Minister would be watching carefully.
Dominic Cummings - former director of Vote Leave and then Boris Johnson’s Chief Advisor was giving evidence to a select committee of MPs about his and those around him’s handling of the pandemic over the past year.
From accusations of lying thrown at Health Secretary Matt Hancock to reported quotes from the Prime Minister that Cummings claims, led to many more deaths that could have been prevented from covid.
Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick rebuffed Cummings appearance.
Meanwhile Shadow Health Secretary Jonathan Ashworth has written to Matt Hancock to demand answers about the Government's handling of the covid-19 crisis, highlighting what they say were mistakes mistakes on testing and PPE.
Part of the letter read,
“"The families of the 128,000 who have lost their lives deserve full and transparent answers, and we must ensure that these mistakes are never allowed to happen again."
