TV’s Suzi Ruffell will be performing at the Neuro Therapy Centre’s first Comedy Night on Friday 11th June.

Described as the working-class comedian of her generation, Suzi Ruffell has had five sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival racking up critical acclaim from reviewers and audiences alike.

Suzi is best known for her TV appearances on Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, The Jonathan Ross Show, and Suzi Ruffell Live From The Comedy Store, amongst a list of other shows.

She is a regular on BBC Radio 4 shows including The News Quiz and The Now Show, Ruffell also co-hosts the hit podcast Like Minded Friends with Tom Allen.

Other comedians performing on the night include Kitty Speed - winner of the Yellow Comedy New Comedian of the Year in 2019. Kitty's warm-hearted comedy is full of joyful tales and earnest observations, all delivered in a relaxed anecdotal style. Local talent and friend of the Centre John Joinson will also be performing.

The evening will be held over Zoom, with the link sent by e-mail on booking.

“We're delighted to have a number of comedians performing at our first comedy night – it’s going to be a fun evening,” said Shannah Goodrick Community and Corporate Co-ordinator at the Neuro Therapy Centre.

“Virtual events have had to become a staple in our fundraising events calendar over the last year and it’s been amazing what we’ve still been able to hold over Zoom from craft sessions through to a virtual fashion show. It hasn’t been an easy year for fundraising and we’re really grateful to all our comedians for giving up their time to support for this event. The money raised from the event will be helping us support people with neurological conditions in the region – support they’ve needed more than ever recently.”

The Centre supports people who have long-term degenerative neurological conditions including Parkinson’s Disease, MND, Ataxia, Fibromyalgia and MS through a range of in-Centre and virtual services and activities including physiotherapy, fitness, and counselling.

The event will start at 7.15pm on Friday 11th June and tickets are available to purchase: Here!
