NEWS ROUNDUP: The Third Covid Wave in Wales

 

The third coronavirus wave in Wales is being spurred on mainly by cases affecting children and young people, this is according to GP Dr Dyfan Jones. The newer stain of the virus, the delta variant is now the most dominant in the country, with weekly case rates at their highest since march, but most of the vulnerable and elderly have been vaccinated.

Some Wales fans were turned away from Amsterdam as they travelled to watch Wales' Saturday encounter against Denmark. Danish fans, were able to enter the Netherlands if they stayed int he country for less than 12 hours, however this exception did not apply to Welsh fans following Brexit.

Expert clockmakers are being called in to fix all of the stopped “iconic” clocks in Cardiff’s city centre. The Echo Centenary Clock in Queen Street, the Monkey Clock in St Mary Street, and two clocks outside Cardiff Market have all recently stopped. Ahead of tourism coming back, Cardiff council has been urged to give the issue “urgent attention”.
