EYES ON THE PIES: Beloved Welsh Pie and Pasty Company Delivers the Goods
The Swansea based Lewis Pie and Pasty company, like many businesses across Wales, has had quite the ride over the last 15 months. One year ago, we followed the story of how the family run company delivered sacks of flour to locals during a national shortage (see the video below). https://www.facebook.com/watch/?extid=SEO----&v=267594857755421
Beloved Pie firm Lewis Pies, had seen a huge demand in flour and yeast. So much so that is it now delivering it to people by the sack!
Since then, the business has had to re-think and adapt the way it operates, focusing more on the world of delivery and online marketplaces. Managing Director Wilfred (Wilf) James Lewis told Cardiff TV that he was unsure whether the company would have survived the pandemic initially, but through the help of local support, family spirit and the government furlough scheme, the business continues to grow and evolve to this day. You may also spot Wilf on QVC from time to time, chatting all things pie of course!
Cardiff TV’s Luke Davies was lucky enough to be send a batch of their newest brownies, and had his very first taste whilst speaking with Wilf himself. Warning: Contains speaking with mouths full!
